So, I've decided that having Colors for the DS would really kick ass. I allready own a DS and an 8 gig microsd card, so I pretty much just need the flashkart (I think?). So.. I'm thinking the CycloDS http://www.dealwoot.com/index.php?t.....ategory_id=184 but I dont really know about the addons there, like, auto firmware updates? Are they that hard to update? also, the EZflash 3-in-1? CAn anyone shed any light on this?

Now, the R4 Revolution is the flashkart that the Colors site reccomends, but I'm not sure if that's because it's actually better, because it's cheaper, or because the people making it are SUPAR BEST BUDS with the dude that wrote colors. So..anyone with some experience in this have any input?

I love my R4 to death but it is outdated. Colours is wonderful. I dont know if things will run an 8g card, i know for r4, 4g is the max?
For firmware... just gotta go on whatever website, dl the files and replace em onto the sd card. its really easy.

have you seen fabercastels work? its adult but done on the ds...im not sure if he uses colours or not but its like. WHAT. THE FK. HOW. I CANT. UUGH.

Um, I think the thing with Fabercastel's tech is that he does not work in opacity, he just blocks things in and then gradually and deliberately varies the color. That's just a guess though, based on his process shots and the way my figure professor teaches (which looks like a more advanced version of what Fabercastel does but in oils)

Yea I tried piecin how he does it but its still like Arrgh! I tried doin a new piece http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y137/Vivieri/090316-021130.png which does look a bit better, zooming/using smaller brushes and less opacity

varying the colours and working with it like painting tho is something I dont know how to do : ( hes got such neater lines too

get a flashcart and start drawn >P

Exactly man, and like, some versions of the r4 are literally 14$ at this point. The only thing that makes me iffy is whether or not to wait for them to crack the DSi

silverdark has one of the R4 knockoffs (basically the same thing as the R4, made by a different company though) and he has Colors on that. I do think that the R4 only takes up to 4g like someone else said.. but he uses his daily and he likes it, so, don't rule it out entirely. :)
